indecisionwinsWoo hoo, they're finally replacing Swatmail with something less crappy! This is good...now I don't have to go to the trouble of using SCCS E-mail, which I was really thinking of doing. (Well, at least I don't have to do it yet...I'll probably end up using SCCS for at least a little while after I graduate...) And I played around with it a little, and as far as I can tell, it really is a lot better than the current Swatmail. (Well, that's not saying much... But as far as I can tell, this new program is really pretty good.)
And I just got a GMail account also. Which was good timing, because my father is finally going to get rid of AOL and the second phone line and get DSL. I haven't played around with it yet, but I guess I should, since I'll probably end up moving stuff that's now on my AOL E-mail addresses to that GMail account. The one problem is...are they planning on putting in POP or IMAP access to GMail? I know GMail is supposed to be better than any other Webmail interface, but I'd still much rather use a mail program when I can.
Edit: I found my answer on Google's Web site: "Does Gmail support automatic forwarding and POP3 access?" "Not at the moment, but Google believes in helping people access information whenever and however they want to do so. In the future you will be able to access Gmail messages from non-Gmail accounts for free or at a nominal fee." I thought I saw somewhere that they were thinking about that for the future, so that's good...
